A Look into the Past

Trinity Evangelical and Reformed Church

According to the information we have been able to gather, the Trinity Evangelical and Reformed Church of Niederwald was founded in 1906 by the earliest German settlers in the Niederwald area. In or about 1947, under the direction of Rev. Edward Kloppe, the community converted this building from a vacant school building into a community hall and church for the residents of the area. A new church building was built a few years later with money from bake sales and bales of cotton that were generously donated by the farmers in the congregation. A sketch of the current church building can be viewed on our Niederwald Historical Sites page.
